Ordered an off the shelf Quilt 9pm Thursday night arrived 2pm that Monday in Perth, Australia, probably as far from Winona, Minnesota as you can be and still be on land. Was able to take it on a 2 night section of the Bibbulmun track that I wasn't expecting to have it for. Nights only got down to 40F glad it was a quilt so I could stick a limb out, very confident I'll be comfortable right down to its 20F. All aspects of this purchase have been amazing.
I finally decided it was time to spend the money on a new sleeping bag. I have been lugging around my fathers old down sleeping bag on hiking/camping trips for the last several years. It is large, bulky, and heavy, but also very warm. So I knew when I was looking for a new bag that I needed something small and light, while not sacrificing too much warmth. I had read a lot about this quilt, so I decided to try it. I was a skeptical at first. How could this quilt that was 1/2 the size and 1/5 the weight be as warm as my old bag? I hate sleeping cold so I purchased the 20 degree bag thinking if it's better to be overkill than under. It was absolutely great. I was toasty all night, had an excellent sleep, and shed several pounds from my backpack as a result of this purchase. It is worth every penny.
