A favorite of long distance backpackers, the Torrid Jacket offers warmth, wind protection, and moisture resistance at an ultralight weight. Designed to keep you warm while keeping your pack light, the jacket starts at just 6.0 oz (220g). Built using 2oz/yd² CLIMASHIELD™ APEX synthetic insulation, the Torrid maintains warmth and breathability even when damp.

The smooth ultralight nylon fabric has a durable water repellent finish for better performance in light precipitation. The adjustable waistband and elastic cuffs keep warmth in and cold out. The optional hood adjusts with a shock cord, and a grosgrain zipper garage at the chin increases comfort. The Torrid Jacket is slightly oversized to accommodate layers, and has raglan sleeves for a full range of movement. For those who won’t let weather get in the way, the Torrid Jacket is the perfect 3-season layer.

Really really good

I got 20D/10D jacket, and been wearing it for 6 months nearly daily, it's perfect, a lot more warmer than i expected, i'm comfortable down to 30F with additional layers inside. It's slightly large for size , very slightly which makes it awesome to layers, but doesn't look big at all it has sporty fit look. Great for active outdoors. But became my go to jacket in bay area over the t-shirt in the evenings.

Excellence! - Men's Torrid Jacket

After receiving an EE rain jacket, I was so impressed I ordered a Men's Torrid Jacket next. I opted for the lightest weight fabric shell and interior as I was trying to reduce weight and volume as much as possible. I realize it will not be as bulletproof as the heavier denier but was ok with that. I also opted to make a custom color combination. Turned out, the expected wait was half what they suggested it would be and the jacket is simply AWESOME! Not yet had a chance to take it into the backcountry, but even wearing around the house I can sense the incredible warmth it will offer. I chose no hood, wanting only a lightweight and slim layering piece to go beneath the rain jacket. You do have to pay attention to sizing, as EE tends to oversize a bit. I typically wear mediums in Montbell, Patagonia, North Face, Z-Packs and many other brands but small fit well. I'm 5'9" and 160. I think I might have swam a bit in a medium, but again, I was looking for a slightly snugger fit. With no through-stitching, the sheets of insulation are undisturbed and the jacket offers great wind protection. It compresses almost as tightly as a down coat and is incredibly light weight. I am most impressed and happy with the style, fit and build quality and will def look into their quilts and bags next!
