Itasca (30 deg/850 fill)
I purchased this quilt primarily for home use, but purchased the 30 deg thinking it could double as a camp quilt. The beauty of the Itasca is you simply throw a duvet cover on it...no one will ever know it is a camp quilt! (bonus of using a duvet cover = keeps quilt clean and prevents nylon quilt from slip-sliding around when used on a raised bed). The 30 deg quilt is delightfully fluffy, warm and relatively light. I live up north where it gets below freezing at night. The 30 deg would be snuggle worthy and warm for a couple sleeping in tent or camper. However, it is almost too warm for home use (assuming you keep your home above 50 degrees). I still use it and love it...although I have to kick it off from time to time to regulate temp. If you enjoy sleeping with a soft, fluffy, lightweight and warm down quilt...the Itasca checks all of the boxes.
Itasca custom queen size quilt two year review.
Two year ownership and review. We use it on our every day home bed. We added a lightweight cotton cover to protect it. We purchased the 50 degree quilt in 850 down as it will never get that cold in our house, but my wife still gets cold on the coldest nights of 60 degree here in So. Cal, I have barely keep warm on those coldest nights myself. So I have to agree with my wife that it's more of a 60 degree rating than a 50 degree. Just our experience. Quality is awesome. 4+ stars.
Itasca custom queen size quilt
This is my second Itaska quilt. Now my wife and I each have our own quilt. Mine is 40 degrees while her's is 30 degree. Need I say more.
Great blanket
I was trying to decide on whether to get a two person quilt or a blanket and went with the Itasca. My wife sleeps really cold and I sleep warm so we have been happy with this. We went with the 10 degree 950 fill and it packs down easily in a 20L dry bag. We've only tested it out being outside wrapped up so far but it insulated really well. We are planning on using this for when we bike pack the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route the summer of 2021
Itasca
Brilliant camping quilt for a couple. We use it sea kayaking. compact, light and big. perfect for three season use. flexible for all situations from home to the wilderness.
Itasca
Fantastic Quilt. Purchased a custom in 10F with 850 fill Fits nicely into a stuff sack and very compact for what it is. Just completed a 7 day 4x4 trip in Canyonlands and Bears Ears with my 2.5 year old son. He has a kids sleeping bag but slides out (he wriggles a lot). With two air mattresses and a memory foam pad we slept soundly all night long. Both of us stayed warm and cozy the whole trip, including the last night where we got snowed on and the temp fell to 18F. I did have to be careful to tuck the edge of the quilt under me that night, but once tucked, I stayed toasty warm.
Highly recommended product.
Excellent for my use
My wife and I both have 20 degree revelations that are fantastic that we used last season in the Sierras. We were going to northern Death Valley NP first week of Feb 2018 and knowing it can get cold out there we purchased a 20 degree Itasca in case we wanted additional warmth. This worked out great!
We do 4x4 adventure camping so we can bring more with us unlike backpacking. For this we did not need to get a heaver Revelation for very cold weather, but use our 20 degree Revelations and if needed, pull the 20 degree Itasca on top of us. Works great!!
Here is our setup. A Thermarest Dreamtime gives us plenty of insulation from ground cold, a 20 degree revelation, I did not use the straps this trip. Then, in the early morning hours if we want more warmth, we pull the Itasca on top. I only had a light merino wool t-shirt and jeans for sleeping.
Be aware that with the revelation you get your warmth when you use the elastic straps, but with this setup, not required...It would need to get into the upper 10's before I would need the straps I believe. Temps we experienced on this trip were lower 30's and like I say, no straps, light t-shirt, jeans all that was needed.
Quality of the products I purchased are top shelf, I highly recommend EQ.
Shivered all night
I purchased a 20 degree Revolution sleeping bag and it was cold. I had additional fill added brining it down to 10 degrees, but didn't have time to try it before thru-hiking the AT. I misirrably shivered all night. The next opportunity I got, I replaced it with a Big Agnes 15 degree mummy. It kept me warm all the way to Katadin. Right before I got to Hanover, I called EE to see if they would help with their quilt. I was told to sell it online. In essence, pass the problem onto someone else. Wow! Great customer service. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company's products or services.
SO WARM! Quality is amazing.
My boyfriend and I purchased this quilt for our hiking trip to Colorado. It is AMAZING. We purchased the 20 degree quilt and it got down to the mid-thirties during our trip. We slept in a single layer under the quilt and were HOT--not uncomfortably so, but it was definitely not cold. It was big enough to cover both of our air mattresses. We even had enough to share with our two dogs. It was really nice to be able to tuck/untuck it around our feet, legs, and arms if we were too hot or cold. The quality is great. The fabric does seem really thin (makes sense to be so light), but it held up really well with all of our packing/unpacking and dogs. Very happy with the purchase--it's absolutely worth it.
Awesome
We have a rooftop tent now so we don't need the separate bags to sleep on cots. We camp in some areas that get rather cool at night. The trip we are driving home from now was only down to the low 50s at night but with this blanket we were able to leave the tent windows and sky lights open all night and stilll be warm. It is super light and can compact down into a fairly small stuff sack for travel. This is one of my favorite camping items we have.
Best Bag Ever
Greetings, my wife and I tried every sleeping bag system on the market last year. We hiked over a total 300 miles in Colorado reaching elevations of 13,000 ft. We were freezing every night. I found Enlightened Equipment and ordered 2 of these quilts, the best decision we ever made! We have taken them out on 3 trips this year and have had to kick one off cause we were too warm. These quilts are not only extremely warm but also lightweight. We will be recommending them to everyone we know and come across on the trail. Thank You so much for the amazing quilts, you guys have really changed the backpacking experience for us..

So light, so compact and so warm!
We bought the 20F queen size quilt since we could pack it down small and fit with all our camping gear and for kayaking when we flew from Australia to Alaska in May 2017. Both of us are also restless sleepers and sleeping bags get twisted around us at night. The quilt performed better than expected. We could hear other campers around us complaining how cold it was at night and how they had to place another sleeping bag on top of their sleeping bag. We just snuggled back into our quilt, surrounded by a warm fluffy cloud.
Just what the doctor ordered
Large enough to cover a double bed and warm enough that nothing else is needed ( socks if you' ve got bad circulation), and light so you don't notice it except for the warmth. This is one great quilt that you can snuggle down into
( preferably with the wife !). Terrific.
The dogs love it too.
All u need
I exchanged my "revelation" for a zero degree down comforter. I like the large size that doesn't sacrifice much weight. I can move around. Even have company. If it's really cold, I can burrito myself and tuck what's left under me. If it's really hot, I can lay it just on my legs, sleep on it, keep it packed. Packs fairly small.
I "small rv" camp full time in my Prius. Bought this comforter in all black $410. Worth every penny, next to how much it costs (physically mentally emotionally) to living in houses. Perfect for me. I used to live in a tiny house. Learned to let go of everything I didn't use most everyday. Upgraded to mobile tiny house = 2007 prius. No debt. Buy the best. Quality of life. Time is more valuable then money.
Thank u enlightened equipment for this well made, "fancy", blanket. So far so good.
I enjoy making music, skateboarding, taking my time, exploring the planet.
We are all just camping here, in these borrowed bodies and borrowed thoughts. None of it ours. Nothing we experience here is personal. Passing parade. = peace and gratitude.

The best
I had been wanting a ultralight comforter for emergency use and backpacking, but hadn't wanted to get a tapered quilt. I picked up a Big Agnes down comforter and was happy with it, but still wanted something that I knew would keep me warm in the worst circumstances. This is it. This comforter is phenomenal. You can feel the quality in the fabrics. Where the BA comforter was great before I got this, it doesn't compare to this comforter.
This comforter is worth every penny.
I love it but...
I'm pretty sure I received a defective product. It tore within a few days after using it as a bed cover one night. No idea what happened. I taped it up, unfortunately lessening the aesthetic, and it's since been fine while using it in the exact same manner. Other than that, It's been fantastic.
Loved it until...
it tore after owning it for maybe a week. And the worst part is I have no idea how the rip happened. I went to sleep, using it as a comforter on my bed, and woke up with the tear and down spilling out. Incredibly bummed. But before that happened I absolutley loved this quilt! So warm and awesomely light weight. Really versatile because of the packability. I would just like to know how durable these items are because mine didn't hold up at all. Some duct tape will fix it up fine, but the aesthetic quality is gone. Five stares before the problem.
Why wouldn't you get one?
Throw a cover on it to replace your duvet for your queen bed, pack it down to a tiny ball and throw it in your pack for camping, pack it down for on the boat or at the lake! Super light, super lofty and packable! Get one, you will use it! Quality and customer service are second to none!
