I ordered solely based on weight. I actually went for a heavier 10F one for extra warmth along with being a short one to add to my clothes at night. In fair weather this quilt is the most amazing blanket ever. It's probably 98% down by weight which means the material is incredibly minimal with maximum insulation ratio. It's hard to describe just how much loft it has. Pushing it down to the colder end of it's temp rating I used my down jacket for my arms with a hood, a hat, gloves, neck gator. These are clothes I'd already be wearing with the those temps anyway. The fact I was comfortably warm during the night without moving means I think it works well enough within reason. For the weight, price, or performance, I don't think any other mummy bag is as good. I say that because I also have a six pound -20F mummy bag. It has very heavy duty material along with zippers and elastic. The quilt has a bit more loft, probably 1/5 the material, probably twice as much down along with being better quality. I think the quilt is a much better choice than any other sleeping bag.
