I think I just retired my Ghost Whisperer
10D outer with the 7D liner, hooded small comes in right at 7.5oz which is a quarter oz lighter than my medium ghost whisperer. The feel of the 7D is the most comfortable material I've ever felt. Not tacky even though it looks like it would be when sweating. It breathes incredibly well too. The lack of all the sewn through baffles like the GW really is what makes this a warmer overall jacket comparing them side by side. My GW would break down in light rain or even due to sweat which is why a synthetic alternative just makes sense. It does pack a little larger than the Ghost, but I usually stuff it loosely into any empty voids inside my pack and it basically disappears. The fit is great. I sized down to make this my mid-layer that also works as a standalone jacket while replacing my 13&16oz hoodless fleeces and adding some wind and water protection. The hood fit is perfect and the waistband fits me great. The only cons I found are that the inner sleeve will pull out of the front of the cuff when putting it on, the elastic in the cuff is extremely small/tight, I'd recommend they size that up or make it a with more stretch, and the last thing is that the elastic in both the cuffs and waist will twist inside the channels. I'm planning to throw a few tack stitches here and there to prevent that from happening in the future. Overall, it's my new favorite and not only would I buy it again, I plan on buying it again in a full 7D and more casual colors for around town. Good job EE. Really brought something incredible into the scene so thank you.
