Revelation APEX Custom Sleeping Quilt - Aurora
Quilts make an excellent canvas for creativity. Our original and best-selling sleeping quilt, but with APEX Synthetic fill, the Revelation, has been reimagined to highlight the incredible artistry within our community. For our fourth Artist Series design, we are proud to introduce the Aurora Sleeping Quilt, designed by Jorge Gutierrez.
On warm nights, the Revelation Apex Sleeping Quilt can lay open as a blanket, and in colder temperatures, you can cinch the adjustable 1/4 length zipper footbox closed. This design allows you to dial in a comfortable night’s sleep in a wide range of different temperatures and climates. The perfection option for active sleepers!
The Revelation is a sleeping quilt, not a sleeping bag, which means it’s designed to be used with a sleeping pad to provide insulation underneath you, between you and the ground. The Revelation doesn’t have a full-length zipper or a built-in hood, saving weight and space in your pack.
About The Artist:
This design was inspired by the aurora borealis, something I’ve never witnessed in person but have always felt drawn to. There’s a mystery, a sense of scale, and the feeling that something bigger than us is happening in the world. It’s similar to standing under a clear night sky and seeing the Milky Way. It puts things into perspective.
I’m from Texas, and I recently turned 40, which has made me reflect on how I spend my time. I’ve always had a curious mind about nature and the world around me, and that curiosity has only grown over time. I work from home, so being outdoors has become my escape. Hiking, filming my experiences, and spending time in places like the Pinnacles Trail in Big Bend National Park and Colorado Bend State Park help me reset and think more clearly. My beautiful wife, Ashley, whom I’ve been married to for 12 amazing years, has always encouraged me to step away, disconnect, and make time to create. That support has had a lasting impact on me.
I’ve been around art since I was a kid. My mom was always drawing and painting, and I remember watching her for hours. That’s what first got me interested in trying it myself. I was always tinkering with things and wanting to understand how they worked. I probably got that from my dad, who was always out working on his car. I was the kid taking apart remote control toys or even the family film camera just to see what was inside. My parents weren’t always thrilled about that, but they were very supportive. I wasn’t naturally great at art, but I kept at it. Over time, I shifted toward filming and documenting my time outdoors, even creating a small YouTube channel to share those experiences. Eventually, that same creative instinct brought me back to making art again.
Now it all feels connected. The outdoors, the quiet moments, and the practice of paying attention. This piece is an attempt to capture not just how something looks, but how it feels to be there. Something simple, honest, and worth holding onto.
Can I have my art displayed on a quilt? Yes! If you'd like to submit original art to be a contender for future designs, go to the Artist Series Submission page.
- Not just Exposure: Those whose art we select to be future Artist Series designs will receive commissions for all quilt sales that include their art. More details within the submission page.
- Check the Rules: You can submit as many original designs as you like, but they must conform to our submission rules, or else they won't be eligible.
- More to Come: We hope to release more designs as fast as monthly, so give us everything you got, and check in for new designs for sale.
Is this a permanent addition? Yes, and no. We want to always have Artist Series Quilts available, but the designs are limited and not guaranteed to come back.

The Exterior of the quilt is 15D Polyester, and the inside is 10D Coyote Nylon or Purple Nylon. All Fabrics are PFC Free, and use a C0 DWR. Fabric colors might appear slightly different from images shown. Read more about our Fabrics.

Footbox has a 20” zipper and shock cord combination for a totally adjustable closure.
