Quilts are a great canvas. The Revelation, our original and best selling sleeping quilt, has been reinvented to showcase the beautiful artistry of our community. As the second edition of our Artist Series Revelations, the Trail Madness Quilt is a collaboration with Jolly Gear, using their Trail Madness design created by Kelly Frohnauer. 

Trail Madness is a Toile de Jouy style art piece with 13 scenes from the triple crown of thru hiking (the AT, PCT, & CDT).  Whether you have hiked the length of all three or the width of one, there is something in this pattern that will speak to you.  Locations like Muir Hut, China Wall, and Katahdin will bring back memories of good friends, cool mornings, and remind you of everywhere you’ve been or all the places you wish to go. 

But why “Trail Madness”? The name comes from a play on March Madness, where, in October 2022, you, the community, helped Jolly choose all of the artwork for this print without knowing it! We had a bracket to chose the most iconic places, animals, and plants on trail and these were our top contenders, all in one place to take with us wherever the trail winds next.  

About the Artist:

“As long as I can remember, I was drawn to art. My dad was very artistic and had studied to be a commercial artist. His detailed drawings of rugged, hardworking cowboys with their cigarette hanging on the edge of their mouth enchanted me. He could creatively depict their personalities, so they seemed to come alive! The thought of one day being a commercial artist was his dream which always fascinated me. Many years later, when my youngest child graduated homeschool high school, I suddenly had extra time on my hands! I saw this as the perfect opportunity to nurture my artistic talent and I jumped in with both feet. My artistic self, which had been set aside while I raised my five children, quickly became reawakened. Memories of my dad’s drawings returned to daily inspire me on my new artistic journey. Now, his dream has become my dream.” Kelly Frohnauer

Artist Series quilts are identical to our In-Stock and Custom Revelation Sleeping Quilts. I repeat, this is a fancy Revelation with a different shell.

Can I have my art displayed on a quilt? Yes! If you'd like to submit original art to be a contender for future designs, go to the Artist Series Submission page.

• Not just Exposure: Those whose art we select to be future Artist Series designs will receive commissions for all quilt sales that include their art. More details within the submission page.
• Check the Rules: You can submit as many original designs as you like, but they must conform to our submission rules, or else they won't be eligible.
• More to Come: We hope to release more designs as fast as monthly, so give us everything you got, and check in for new designs for sale.

Is this a permanent addition? Yes, and no. We want to always have Artist Series Quilts available, but the designs are limited and not guaranteed to come back.

• Serialized: The first 150 Trail Madness Revelations will be Serialized based on the purchase order of the quilt.
• Expiration Date: We'll be selling this design until we run out of fabric. Expediency may be rewarded for that reason.

Fill:

• 850fp Grey Duck Down or 950fp Grey Goose Down. Ethically sourced from an RDS certified supplier. Down product weights may vary +/- 5% due to production variances. Read more about our Fills.

Fabric:

• The Exterior of the quilt is 15D Polyester, and the inside is 10D Forest Green Nylon or Charcoal Gray Nylon. DWR finish. All Fabrics are PFC Free. Fabric colors might appear slightly different from images shown. Read more about our Fabrics.
• Lighter colored fabrics are semi-transparent, which will see through to the down. Down is not white, but a mottled grey and white mix.

Footbox:

• Footbox has a 20” zipper and shock cord combination for a totally adjustable closure.

Features:

• Included pad attachment system uses elastic straps and clips on each side of the quilt to keep it secure on a sleeping pad and lock out drafts on cold nights.
• Selecting a custom option of "Draft Collar" adds draft collars to the head and foot of your Revelation Quilt.
• Snap and drawcord neck closure lets you fine-tune draft control.
• Unique U-shaped continuous baffles keep the down where you need it, all night long.
• Includes Silnylon Stuff Sack (.3oz-.8oz, sizes found here), 100% cotton storage bag, and 2 Elastic Straps (0.4oz each - One Straight, One Loop).

Note: All quilt height and width measurements reference the dimensions of the sewn but not stuffed product. Each quilt type measures differently based on product design. For sizing related questions, please review our size chart located on the tab above. The length measurement below is taken while the quilt is completely open and laid flat. When the footbox is fully closed the length will decrease by 4” - 6”. Unless otherwise noted, this chart reflects the weight of 10D outside and inside fabric.
